Principals and clients. It is the objective of McArthur Shipping to develop and
protect the interests of our Principals, to meet shareholders profit expectations and to
provide a secure and satisfying work enviroment for our employees.
Company Overview
The McArthur Shipping & Agency Company Pty. Limited (established in
1908) along with its sister companies Hetherington
Kingsbury Shipping Agency are part of the International Shipping Division of Meware Pty Ltd.
McArthur Shipping is a credible ship Agency Company representing a
niche of International Principals operating ships in a wide variety of trades within
Australia and New Zealand. The range of representation includes liner services, tramp and
bulk operators, refrigerated and fishing vessels, car carriers, tankers, livestock
carriers and manning contractors for offshore drilling and supply vessel operations.
Services extend to encompass trade marketing, bunkering, ship broking, chartering and
marine consultancy. McArthur Shipping was established in Australia in 1908 and has taken a
leading position amongst independent Shipping Agency Companies in Australia.
The Head Office is located in Ultimo, adjacent to the recently
developed tourist location on the City fringe.
Branch offices are established in thirteen major ports of Australia
including Adelaide, Brisbane, Hobart, Fremantle, Gladstone, Karratha (Dampier and Port
Walcott), Mackay, Melbourne, Port Hedland, Port Kembla, Sydney, Newcastle and Townsville
(Karratha and Port Hedland offices are a joint venture operation).
McArthur Shipping has a Shipping Information System developed locally
to suit Principals requirements. It is designed to provide fully integrated control of
bookings, inventory, transport, documentation and accounts. Facilities exist for
electronic data interchange (EDI) of documents with Principals, customers, customs, port
authorities and terminals.
The company has an enthusiastic and dedicated staff which includes
individuals with many years experience in marketing, sales, container operations,
industrial relations, IT, and all facets of ship agency and ship management including
conference representation, if required, and negotiations with shipper bodies.
With no corporate influences involved in stevedoring, tug or ship
owning, or operating, we are a totally independent shipping agency network with branches
throughout Australia. McArthur Shipping combined with our sister company, Hetherington
Kingsbury Shipping Agency, we are ideally placed to offer total representation for
